A photograph can show what Tuxie is wearing. I want it to show something of who we are together.
For this shoot, I chose a blue piece with small gold palm trees for him and a floral dress for myself. I liked the way the colors spoke to each other without matching. Against the blush backdrop, they became a portrait that felt playful, polished and very much ours.
I think about those choices before we step in front of the camera. I also leave room for Tuxie. When he looks up at me, I turn toward him. The exchange is familiar, and it changes the photograph.
That is what I look for when creating images for TUXIE LUXIE. I want people to see the design, from its shape to its finishing details. I want them to feel a little of the life we share, too.

The photograph from behind the camera is one of my favorites from that day. The set is visible, the portrait is still being made, and there we are in the middle of it.
The photograph between takes is one of my favorites from that day. We are looking at each other, and the familiarity I hoped to capture is already there.
