I’ve known about Chinese Tuxedo for a while. It’s one of my favorite spots downtown, admittedly in part because my little muse shares half its name.
Tuxedo.
I’ve photographed the sign twice now.
Same sign. Opposite directions.
One evening, a clear night. Another, in the middle of a downpour.

I didn’t set out to photograph it either time. I just noticed it.
Maybe that’s what I like about these two images.
We all move through the same world, but we don’t see the same things.
What catches our eye is shaped by what already means something to us.
For me, a certain blue sign downtown.
And a little Maltese named Tuxie.

What we notice is personal.
Perhaps that’s where a point of view begins.
