My Little Shadow

Tuxie is my little shadow.

If I move, he moves.

Across the apartment. Down the street. Doing laundry.

He just likes to be where I am.

And somewhere along the way, he became part of how I see things.

A walk through the city is different when he’s beside me. The light hitting a building. A particularly good doorway. Someone’s garden spilling onto the sidewalk. A furry buddy we pass who inevitably becomes Tuxie’s new best friend for approximately thirty seconds.

He makes me slow down.

And I think that’s part of why I like having him around while I’m working on TUXIE LUXIE, too.

The world of TUXIE LUXIE is very much about the things I notice. Clothes, objects, places, food, colors, details, little moments that make everyday life feel a bit more interesting.

Tuxie is usually somewhere in the middle of all of it.

Not necessarily doing anything.

Just following along.

My little shadow.
